Homemade Paintball Bunkers

Homemade paintball bunkers can be made from practically anything you find in the dump, in the woods, or around the house. They just have to be tall enough to crouch behind in order to be effective. They can be as simple as rope tied between two trees with tarp over it or hay bales piled high to forts constructed of scrap wood and plywood.

Old tires make good bunkers. They can be stacked as high as you want or can be dug into the ground with a trench behind. To stack them high find a long branch of a tree and dig a hole to put the end in. Secure with soil and stack the tires over the branch. Get tires from the dump, you can usually get them free.

Palates are easy to get and useful in making bunkers. Visit your local discount stores and they will probably have them stacked by their garbage bin. Palates come in wood (the ones usually thrown away) and in plastic. Plastic palates can be purchased at lumber supply stores or hardware stores. Usually palates have large spaces between the boards and these must be covered to make an effective bunker. You can cover the palates with tarp by cutting to fit and stapling with a staple gun. Plastic Garbage bags work too but are not long lasting. If someone in the area is throwing out old carpeting cut it to fit the palate and staple it on with a staple gun. You can attach palates together in a V with the point at the top or you can use your cinder blocks and prop them up between rows.

Empty plastic or metal 55 gallon drums make good bunkers. You can stand them upright with two or three together to crouch behind or line them up on their side on the ground. If you want them to be a little more stable fill with dirt and they won't move.

Use drums and tires to make a taller bunker. Place a drum upright and put some dirt in it to stabilize it then stack two tires on top.

Logs stacked upright or dug into the ground (if they are big) make great bunkers and you can find them right in the woods.

If your neighbor gets rid of his old garage door you may want to ask if you can have it. This makes a really big bunker once you get it standing. Actually any type of door that you can find in the garbage dump can be used to make a bunker.

Take chicken wire or inexpensive wire fencing and form a circle with it. Now place all your grass clippings all summer and by the end of the season you will have a grass bunker.
Bunkers for paintball can be made from just about any type of garbage. With any luck you won't have to purchase anything to build them. Just make sure if you are going to take something be sure to ask first.
